WORMS Rides, 2011

Ride with a Monster! March 13th 2011

Of course we're talking about the Ducati Monster motorcycle - and Robby was the rider of this new bike. She picked it up a few weeks ago and since today was above 50F we didn't need any more excuses to skip the chores and go out for an official WORMS ride. We met at our usual Jireh Baker Cafe in Centreville, where the food is tasty and the coffee is most excellent. After some chit-chat we were ready to roll down Route 29, heading towards Sudley and Gum Springs on our way to Route 50. Once there we headed west through the town of Aldie, where we turned north up Snickerville Turnpike. This is a great road for all types of riders, but watch out for bicyclists, horses and a few cars here and there. We stopped at the fire station in Philomont to take a short break and then continued to Route 7, where we headed west again to Blue Ridge Mountain Road. Turning south again we rode the high speed switch backs back to Route 50 and then turned east, looking for lunch - which we found at the famous Red Horse Tavern in Middleburg VA. Once our bellies were full we continued east towards Washington DC and several WORMS members pealed off along the way. Rose, Jim and Allen stopped at Patriot Harley-Davidson to check out the new bikes and buy a few parts. Overall it was a very nice ride. If you like what you see, why not join the WORMS for the 2011 season and experience life to it's fullest?
