Rolling Thunder and the Ride of the Patriots on Sunday was a blast and a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. If you've been with the WORMS for a while you know this is an annual event we never miss. We (and we're talking 21 WORMS members) met at the nearby IHOP for breakfast at 0630 and then lined up just before 0800 at Patriot Harley-Davidson. The ceremonies were a moving experience at Patriot (but it was hard to hear the speaker) and after taking lots of pictures it was time to saddle up. We started moving out at 0900 but our bikes weren't moving until around 0920 since there were about 1000 bikes in front of us. We rode to the Pentagon under Police escort and the ride went smoothly. After about 4 hours looking for shade in-between checking out the bikes in the Pentagon parking lot, it was time to roll through Washington DC, up and down Constitution and Independence Avenues. Following that we headed to Rose & Jim's place in Arlington VA to enjoy some pulled-pork sandwiches and all the fixings along with a few beers. A wonderful day!

The WORMS mostly all came together today for the Memorial Day Weekend and our annual pilgrimage to the Patriot Harley-Davidson Open House event. Mike, Woody and Allen arrived on time but the West Virginia gang rolled in a little later. Hey, we're glad everyone showed up and this is a first - the WV riders didn't get wet on the ride over. We checked out bikes and Rose even started talking to the salesman about making some type of deal for a Softail Deluxe but she didn't finalize anything. Maybe Rose really wants a chopper! Tomorrow morning is Rolling Thunder so we hope the WORMS don't party too late tonight!
