Woody and Allen set the WORMS up for a half day of fun on July 20th - which happened to be the world-wide "Ride to Work Day". We met at 12PM in the front courtyard of our Gateway Tower buildings. Once under way and gassed up, we got on the George Washington Parkway (235/233) in Alexandra, rode north to the Georgetown Pike (193), and then took this into the Great Falls park via Old Dominion Drive (738). Oh, we actually rode past Old Dominion Drive because Woody got hungry. So we dined at the "The Tavern" on hamburgers, salads, and Fish & Chips. It was a tasty meal. Once we rode back to the park (it cost a few bucks for each of us, but that's life...), we walked around and saw the beautiful Great Falls. See below for some excellent pictures (they get bigger when you click on them). Around 1530 we decided it was time to head out. Woody continued on to Leesburg, and Rick, Allen, and Rose headed back the way we came. If you've never ridden Georgetown Pike or the George Washington Parkway, you must promise yourself that you shall do this soon. The view of the Potomac is just great. The houses in Great Falls are nice to look at (but forget about paying taxes on those estates). Best of all, the traffic wasn't bad. Afternoon rides also make for an easy day at the office.
