WORMS Rides, 2007

Bike Night at Camille's on June 9th

Finally! The WORMS were able to get down to Fredericksburg for Bike Night at Camille's. It was a beautiful day for those that ventured outside their homes and one that will not be soon forgotten. Allen, Kathy, and Gary met down in Fredericksburg and proceeded to ride south to Lake Anna, following back roads along 208 and maybe 601. We did a few wrong turns but we were never lost. Just ask the guy that we asked for directions - he'll tell ya. By the time we rolled into Camille's, Beth, Gary and Austin were there and enjoying their dinner outside with the bikes. Perhaps a dozen or so bikers showed up and as I said, the weather was perfect! As a special treat, Camille's will be hosting a live band next Saturday night (06-16), and we also have Waugh's Big Damn Bike Show earlier that day. Sounds like a full day of fun for the WORMS next weekend! Plan accordingly....get those honey do's worked off during the week.

The WORMS enjoyed a wonderful summer day supporting Rolling Thunder this year. Early in the morning (0630) we gathered at the IHOP at Route 29/Route 50 and had a hearty breakfast before getting our bikes in line at Patriot Harley-Davidson. We started out with the usual bunch, and then met up with Gary / Beth / Austin while walking down the line at Patriot. The escorted ride started around 0900, and soon we found ourselves in the Pentagon parking lot. I think it was about 1415 when we finally rode out of there and did the Independence / Constitution Ave ride through Washington DC.

The original plan was to stop in Washington DC to visit some of the memorials, but it was difficult to pull off the road so we took the ramp to I-66 / Route 50 and headed back to Rose and Jim's place in Arlington VA. After a brief rest stop it was decided that a good Mexican meal was in order so we enjoyed an excellent dinner before calling it a day. Sandra and Allen made it home just 5 minutes before a Thunderstorm hit the Springfield area, so the timing was perfect!
